Candy AI review
Strong image generation, unpredictable monthly bill
In one paragraph
Candy AI is an AI companion platform with some of the best image generation in the category, available from a low headline subscription price. Its real monthly cost is substantially higher than the advertised figure because images, videos and voice calls are all metered in tokens on top of the subscription.

Our verdict
Buy this for the pictures, and go in with your eyes open about the meter. The advertised annual price is close to meaningless for anyone generating media daily. The bigger mark against it on a UK rubric is that you cannot tell from the site who holds your data, which costs it heavily on our second-heaviest criterion.
What works
- Image quality and character consistency are genuinely among the best here
- Headline annual price is the lowest on this list
- Large library of pre-made characters if you do not want to build one
What does not
- The £4-a-month annual price is not what an active user pays — expect £20 or more
- No clearly identified operating company, which is a real problem for data rights
- No native mobile apps
- No published refund policy
The facts, checked
- OperatorNot clearly identified on the site. You cannot tell who the data controller is.

Who this is for
Choose it if you want image-led use, if you are disciplined about token spend. It scores highest on voice, image & video at 8.8/10, a criterion carrying 15% of the total.
Look elsewhere if safety & age assurance is what matters most to you. That is this app's weakest criterion at 6.5/10, and at the bottom of this scale that means: a tick-box age gate, no crisis handling, or an unresolved regulatory investigation.
Candy AI: common questions
5 questions
How much does Candy AI cost in the UK?
Published plans are $12.99 / month (~£10); $23.97 / quarter (~£19); $47.88 / year (~£38). Realistically, expect £20–£47 for an active user once tokens are counted a month. Images, video and voice calls all consume tokens bought separately. Billing is in US dollars, so your card issuer will apply a conversion and may add a non-sterling fee.
Who operates Candy AI?
The operating company behind Candy AI is not clearly identified on its website. That matters more than it sounds: without a named data controller you have no practical route to exercise your UK GDPR rights, and no way to know who holds your chat logs. It is the main reason this app scores 6.5 on privacy.
Is Candy AI safe and private?
We found no reported security incident affecting this service. On data protection: Unclear — without an identified operator a UK user cannot tell who the data controller is. On training: Not clearly stated. On deletion: Deletion offered in account settings. It scores 6.5/10 on our privacy and jurisdiction criterion.
Does Candy AI have a free version?
Very limited — a handful of messages
Does Candy AI do voice or video calls?
It supports live voice calls, but not video calls. It can generate images. It can also generate video clips, which is not the same thing as a live video call.
