Kindroid review
The deepest persona editor of any app reviewed
In one paragraph
Kindroid is an AI companion app from Kindroid Inc offering text, voice and video generation with an unusually deep persona editor, including long backstory fields and a selfie system that keeps the character visually consistent. It is the strongest choice for users who want to author a companion in detail rather than pick from presets.

Our verdict
If what you want is authorship rather than a chat toy, this is the pick, and it finishes a hair behind the top spot only because it has no video calling and no UK establishment. Buy on the web, not through the App Store, and you save roughly £24 a year for an identical product.
What works
- Persona editor is genuinely deep and the settings visibly change behaviour
- Long-term memory is among the best in the category
- Flat price with generation included — no token anxiety
- Native apps on both iOS and Android
What does not
- Buying through an app store costs about £2 a month more than the web price
- No live video calling
- Free tier is a trial, so you cannot evaluate it properly without paying
- US operator, so enforcing UK data rights is more awkward than with a UK company

Who this is for
Choose it if you want writers and world-builders who want to author a character in detail. It scores highest on customisation & depth at 9.2/10, a criterion carrying 15% of the total.
Look elsewhere if safety & age assurance is what matters most to you. That is this app's weakest criterion at 7.0/10, and at the bottom of this scale that means: a tick-box age gate, no crisis handling, or an unresolved regulatory investigation.
